Once you have an airman's certificate you have the freedom of the skies, you can fly anywhere and anywhen You can visit places that are relatively inaccessible - make 'flying' visits to destinations that by car are far away and awkward to get to. You can go family 'flightseeing' plan romantic trips with your special someone and generally enrich your life and that of your family.

NOT!

If only it were true. When I was flying in the UK  I was constantly battling the weather. With the constant let down of trips cancelled, flying is not a family (or romance friendly) hobby. Add to that the expense and the seemingly endless rules and regulations and the private pilot in Britain is constantly struggling : struggling to stay current, struggling to find the time. Struggling to think of something to do on the rare occasions that everything comes together and you can actually fly. The result is that many give up.
In the US flying is much cheaper, easier to organise and at least in Florida, the weather is relatively easy to predict and usually flyable!

Here at Flying Families we want to put the fun back into flying and to help new and inexperienced pilots find their 'wings' by helping them plan where to go, what to do and how to do it.
Join Us At Flying Families
We believe in flying! Flying is freedom, flying is fun and flying is for families! Don't believe us? Don't want to share your interest in flying? Of course you do, but sometimes it seems there's just too much competition. The kids don't want to leave their video games, wives and husbands always have something else to do!  Maybe you can't even find the information you need to get started.

WE CAN HELP! SIGN UP FOR OUR FREE NEWSLETTER AND EVERY FOUR WEEKS YOU'LL GET THE INFORMATION YOU NEED.

Our aim is to make flying a choice and not a chore, for you and your family. We help you choose a flying club, look at the various flying ratings and if you have that precious PPL we'll help you choose destinations for their attractions, not their proximity or their tea room.

Sweep her off for lunch and a spot of shopping. Fly the kids to a deserted beach or a theme park, whisk him off to a Grand Prix and you will find a new source of fun as you become a flying family!

We take the strain out of finding destinations and planning routes by providing route information, pictures of VRPs suggested RT and even DVDs of routes designed to make your flying safer and increase your confidence. We also provide information for your passengers to keep them interested in the landmarks en route and to build their enthusiasm for the destination. We'll help you introduce your passengers to the unique small aircraft environment and help you to make flying the perfect choice for your flying family!
Registration is quick and simple, we ask for a minimum of information - so sign up now - it's fast, it's free and we never EVER give your information to anyone.

St Malo

Cathedral Window
Once you have made that first international trip (probably to the Channel Islands) you can extend your rnage easily by taking in some of the fascinating destinations on the French coast. St Malo makes a great choice for a Flying Family as it provides a chance for the kids to practice their French while you enjoy the local resturants and all enjoy the ambience and history of this old fortress city which was once an independent republic.
